New Unity Wireless Agent Channel Increases Product Development & Sales

FEDERAL WAY, Wash., Sept. 20, 2001 (PRIMEZONE) -- Unity Wireless Corporation (OTCBB:UTYW), a leading provider of high performance RF (radio frequency) power amplifiers to the wireless industry, announced aggressive expansion of the Company's sales and distribution channels for its Ultratech line of products worldwide has resulted in a substantial increase in inquiries and orders for the supply of RF power amplifiers.

With marketing and distribution agreements in place for the United States market, as well as South America, Europe and Asia, Unity Wireless is now better equipped to provide product for more customers through many of its international distribution partners. Over the past six months, Unity Wireless has experienced a steady rise in qualified product inquiries to approximately 15 per month from one per month prior to March 2001. Of those inquiries received, approximately 30 have been further qualified, accepted and now represent projects currently under development for new customers. Management estimates that projects currently in development represent over US$20 million in potential sales.

Through multiple strategic marketing and sales relationships, Unity Wireless has signed 24 new distributors for its complete line of RF power amplifiers in 18 countries. John Robertson, Chief Executive Officer, reported that, "Worldwide acceptance of our 'can-do' approach to product development and delivery has made it possible for us to find experienced and technically competent partners for product sales and distribution around the world."

Asian market penetration is further enhanced by the Company's partnering in Japan with Internix, Inc., one of Japan's largest IC (Integrated Circuit) sales and distribution organizations, with sales to clients such as Fujitsu, NEC and Kyocera amounting to over US$162 million. Pangaea (HK) Ltd. of Hong Kong brings extensive international sales and marketing expertise in China, one of the world's fastest growing wireless markets, to the Unity Wireless distribution network. Their marketing of a wide range of products, including components for mobile base stations and handheld phones, makes Pangaea an ideal distribution and service resource throughout the Far East.
