Appointment of CIO


STOCKHOLM, Sweden, Jan. 9, 2002 (PRIMEZONE) -- Following completion of the merger with Sampo's P&C operations, the enlarged If will have total investment assets of some 70 billion SEK, including fixed-income, equity and real estate investments.

Investments will be defined as a separate business unit alongside the Insurance operations. Nils Henriksson has been appointed Chief Investment Officer and head of the business unit. Nils Henriksson, aged 39 and currently head of Corporate Finance at If, has been with If since the company was created in 1999. Before that he was Group Treasurer of Skandia, which he joined in 1996 from a background in Swedish banking.
