Sigma Intensifies Operations Within SAP Business Systems and Acquires Axell Consulting AB with Seven Employees

Gothenburg, SWEDEN

STOCKHOLM, Sweden, Jan. 17, 2002 (PRIMEZONE) -- At the end of 2001, Sigma acquired the IT consulting company Axell Consulting AB, with seven employees. The company offers leading-edge expertise for the integration and installation of the SAP business system.

"Through this acquisition, Sigma acquires leading-edge expertise and market knowledge that complements our earlier acquisition of Ericsson Mobile Business Solutions in Norrkoping and the SAP expertise in our existing operations in Denmark," says Sune Nilsson, President of Sigma.

Following the acquisition, Sigma can also provide the services of some 40 consultants within SAP installation. In cooperation with Axell Consulting, Sigma will also be able to offer advanced further development of customers' existing SAP installations, which currently fulfills a clearly identified need. The intention is for Sigma to continue to grow in this area.

"As the new president of Axell Consulting, it is extremely stimulating to have the opportunity to combine our unique SAP expertise with Sigma's size and brand name, as well as Sigma's method of working with packaged services," says Mikael Gavelin, President of Axell Consulting.

The acquisition creates an immediate positive effect on Sigma's earnings and sales. An earnings-based compensation may accrue for payment over the next three years.

Sigma supplies solutions that safeguard the customers' competitiveness. Operations are based on entrepreneurial, niche subsidiaries that develop services and products in close cooperation with customers. Services are offered within three business areas: Business Solutions, IT Solutions, and Network & Wireless Solutions. The Group has approximately 1,300 employees within 33 subsidiaries in Sweden and six other countries. Sigma is listed on the O-List of the Stockholm Exchange.
