Sigma Secures Outsourcing Assignment from Atlet

STOCKHOLM, Sweden, Jan. 22, 2002 (PRIMEZONE) -- Sigma has been contracted to handle all technical documentation for the Atlet forklift truck manufacturer through an outsourcing agreement. The agreement calls for both development and implementation of new information solutions, such as updating current information.

"Atlet is outsourcing all production of technical information to enable us to focus on our core operations, which are to develop, produce and sell forklifts," says Martin Bjorkroth, product line manager at Atlet. "Through this cooperation, we will have access to Sigma's entire expertise in this area and gain a further advantage over our competitors. Atlet's technical documentation will be among the best in the sector as a result of this cooperation with Sigma."

Currently, work is aimed at improving the production and copying of manuals. A review is also under way to ensure that technical documentation meets the demands of all interests. In the near future the documentation will be published on the Internet, which will involve rapid updates and increased accessibility. Sigma's assignment is also to improve the educational design of Atlet's technical documentation, for example, with enhanced target-group adaptation.

"Through Atlet's outsourcing of all technical documentation to us, we can ensure that the company will always have the right staffing and expertise for its projects - and with full control over costs," says Carl Vikingsson, President of Sigma Information design. "In addition, Atlet will also have access to Sigma Information Design's complete know- how in the area, including skills for process improvements, online publishing and tool selection. For Sigma Information Design, the transaction is especially gratifying, since the order is a breakthrough in outsourcing outside the telecom sector."
