STOCKHOLM, Sweden, Feb. 1, 2002 (PRIMEZONE) -- Listed company Sign On AB (publ) and Posten AB (publ), Sweden Post, have entered into a general agreement. The parties will be working in co- operation, and Posten will become a new shareholder in Sign On.

This general agreement relates to co-operation in fields such as electronic documents, electronic distribution and signing. Sign On and Posten plan also to launch these services on the international market. The agreement will be followed up by a detailed agreement by the end of March 2002 at the latest.

Posten has acquired 3 per cent of shares in Sign On and intends to acquire a further 7 per cent upon signing of the final agreement.

- We have opted to become a shareholder in Sign On in order to ensure a successful co-operation says Lennart Grabe, CEO for Posten.

- Posten is a major player in the field of electronic signatures, not just in Sweden but on an international level as well. This field is important to Sign On. As far as Sign On is concerned, the fact that the Posten is also acquiring a large share in the company is a great advantage says Bosse Falgard, MD of Sign On.

According to Swedish and European legislation, as of 2001 electronic signatures have the same status as signatures created in the traditional way using a pen.
