American Realty Board Declares No Common Stock Dividend for 2001


DALLAS, Feb. 21, 2002 (PRIMEZONE) -- American Realty Investors, Inc. (NYSE:ARL) Thursday announced that no annual dividend will be paid to holders of its common stock for calendar year 2001. The decision was voted by ARI directors at the February 20 board meeting.

American Realty's annual consideration of a payment to common shareholders follows the fiscal yearend on Dec. 31, allowing the board to base the decision on actual financial results.
