New Skanska AB Chairman to be Appointed


STOCKHOLM, Sweden, March 11, 2002 (PRIMEZONE) -- The present Chairman of the Board of Skanska AB, Bo Rydin, has advised the nomination committee that he will not be available for re-election as Director of the Board following the Annual General Meeting of Shareholders in April 2002.

The nomination committee has informed Skanska AB that the committee will propose re-election of the other present board members: Claes Bjork; Eliot R. Cutler; Per-Olof Eriksson; Roger Flanagan; Soren Gyll; Finn Johnsson; Sverker Martin-Lof; Arne Martensson; and election of Anders Nyren, CEO of AB Industrivarden, as new board member.

The Board of Skanska AB has expressed its intent to appoint Sverker Martin-Lof as Chairman of the Board.

The nomination committee, has consisted of Bo Rydin, Chairman of Skanska AB and AB Industrivarden; Anders Ek, President of Robur Kapitalforvaltning; Per Ludvigsson, President of Inter Ikea Investment AB; Mats Guldbrand, Equities Manager AMF Pension; and Curt Kallstromer, Executive Vice President and head of the Chairman's office, Handelsbanken.
