NEWPORT NEWS, Va., March 25, 2002 (PRIMEZONE) -- (WITH PHOTO) Northrop Grumman Corporation's (NYSE:NOC) Newport News sector announced today three promotions in its operations division.

Veasey Wilson has been promoted to executive director, Supply Chain Management. David Eberwine has been appointed executive director, Central Planning, Analysis and Process Engineering. Rob Hogan has been promoted to director, Structural Fabrication and Assembly. All will report to John Shephard, senior vice president, Operations.
"These appointments are a reflection of the sector's emphasis on efficient resource management, synchronized supply chain operations and lean manufacturing," said Shephard. "With their proven track records and superb people skills, these key executives are a valuable asset to Northrop Grumman."
Wilson, 47, joined the company in 1997 and is responsible for all material operations across the sector, which include sourcing, logistics, supplier quality, material operations, and supply chain business planning, analysis and efficiency. He is also responsible for collaborating with Northrop Grumman's Ship Systems sector to identify and implement cross-sector opportunities for material cost savings. A member of Northrop Grumman's Corporate Material Council, Wilson previously was director, Supply Chain Management. He is a resident of Yorktown, Va.
Eberwine, 48, joined the company in 1972, and his most recent position was director, Steel Fabrication. Eberwine's scope of responsibilities includes strengthening sector-wide resource planning and management, improving and standardizing the sector's planning methods, processes and use of planning systems applications, and enhancing operational synchronization across functional boundaries. He is also responsible for providing production engineering support to design/build teams and providing lean process engineering expertise to assist sector organizations and process owners. He will collaborate with the aircraft carrier and submarine programs to improve and standardize total-supply-chain metrics and production control reports. He is a resident of Suffolk, Va.
Hogan, 43, joined the company in 1976 and is responsible for all aspects of the manufacture of structural parts, panels, bulkheads, assemblies, units and pre-outfitted modules. He also manages manufacturing engineering, shop planning and shop production control for structural work. His most recent position was manufacturing process owner, Steel Fabrication. Hogan is a resident of Portsmouth, Va.
