Nordea Launches e-Banking Services in Lithuania

STOCKHOLM, Sweden, May 2, 2002 (PRIMEZONE) -- Nordea launched e-banking services in Lithuania. Corporate customers now have access to online banking. Online banking will be available to personal customers starting this autumn.

"Nordea's easy-to-use and secure net services are now available in all the Baltic countries and Poland in addition to the Nordic countries," said Bo Harald, who is responsible for Electronic Banking and e-Business. "Corporate customers, in particular, obtain unique benefits since access to net banking services in Finland and all Baltic countries only requires one log-on, and the same Solo codes are used."

Nordea's e-banking services were launched in Estonia in June 2000, in Latvia in April 2001 and in Poland in October 2001. WAP services are already available in Estonia, Latvia and Poland and are to be introduced in Lithuania during the coming autumn.

Nordea has two branches in Vilnius providing a full range of financial services to personal and corporate customers. In addition, Nordea has a leasing company in Lithuania, Nordea Finance Lithuania.
