Leveraging a New Industry-Standard Test Language Tau/Tester leverages the latest version of the standardized test language Testing and Test Control Notation, TTCN-3. Unlike TTCN-2, which was primarily used for conformance testing within the communications industry, TTCN-3 is applicable to testing virtually any system including 3G, XML and CORBA-based protocols. Tau/Tester brings a rigorous, standardized testing approach into the mainstream where it can now be leveraged in all industries where quality is paramount, including military/aerospace and automotive, in addition to communications. When combined with built in test debugging and the ability to leverage off- the-shelf test suites, Tau/Tester accelerates the test development process while increasing application quality.

Early Customer Feedback
Telelogic developed Tau/Tester in partnership with Nokia Research Center, Helsinki, Finland. "Nokia's early involvement in the design of the tool ensures that the new product will be even more user friendly than existing test tools," explains Dr. Colin Willcock, Research Manager at NRC.

Future enhancements will include the ability to describe tests in a graphical format, automatic migration to Tau/Tester from previous generation products, and integration with other software development tools as well as third party products."
