Sign On and Ernst & Young in Non-Exclusive Joint Venture

STOCKHOLM, Sweden, May 16, 2002 (PRIMEZONE) -- Sign On and Ernst & Young Technology and Security Risk Services Nordic are strengthening their cooperation on the Nordic market.

The companies have been successful in a number of projects involving joint customers and this success now forms the basis for a more intensive form of cooperation vis-a-vis the market. One new area which is currently attracting a lot of interest from the companies' customers is rationalisation by means of fully electronic invoice processing.

"Sign On has a strong product portfolio in the area of electronic signatures and secure communication of business information. This type of solution suits customers within several market segments, for example the pharmaceutical industry. This means that we are now going a step further," said Andreas Halvarsson, vice president of Sign On.

"Our experience of Ernst & Young's 150 security advisors in the Nordic region has been very good and customers have been extremely satisfied with the systems and the work which has been carried out," said Andreas Halvarsson, vice president of Sign On.

Ernst & Young and Sign On are currently collaborating with a global industrial group to draw up a business plan for how Sign On's product FormPipe(tm) can be used to strengthen the business and comply with new rules in the area of electronic invoicing which will come into force in the EU in January 2004.

"From the customer's perspective, this type of system is an effective means of handling financial information, from creation in business systems to long-term storage in accordance with various countries' bookkeeping legislation, generating dramatic savings compared with current working practices," said Lucas Cardholm, Director, Ernst & Young TSRS.
