Munters Restores After Plane Crash


STOCKHOLM, Sweden, May 31, 2002 (PRIMEZONE) -- Munters has received the assignment to help in the restoration of the Pirelli tower in Milano, Italy. On the 18th of April a tourist plane accidentally crashed into the tower damaging two floors of the building.

Munters assignment has been to restore the premises, computers and data archives which were damaged by water from bursting pipes and activated sprinkler systems. Approximately 4 tons of documents were damaged and has been recovered with the help of Munters technique of drying and restoring documents. Munters developed a technique for water damage restoration 20 years ago and has been developing the technology ever since. With over 300 service depots in most of the states of USA and all major countries in Europe and several locations in Asia, Munters is the world leader in water as well as fire damage restoration. With the use of own developed dehumidifiers Munters can restore buildings, sensitive equipment and material damaged by water and thereby avoid the substantially more costly alternative, which is to rebuild and exchange. Water damage is one of the biggest cost items for the global insurance industry. At present the water and fire damage restoration services accounts for 40% of Munters total business. Munters received similar assignments in the Pentagon and in New York after the tragic events on the 11th of September last year. The estimated order value is EUR 500 000.
