Viscount Dealer Awarded Series of Contracts


BURNABY, British Columbia, Aug. 5, 2002 (PRIMEZONE) -- Viscount Systems Inc. (OTCBB:VSYS) President and CEO Stephen Pineau is pleased to announce The Company sales of its legacy products has continued to improve as it begins to roll out its new MESH technology. A number of substantial projects in the Minneapolis area have recently been awarded to Viscount dealer Electric Fire and Security Inc. Their current installations include the 12 building Southpoint Village project, the 15 building Midland Terrace project and the 12 building Cedarview project. These complexes are using Viscount's Enterphone 2000 and Enterphone Axess telephone entry systems.

"Over the years we have done many projects for the Minneapolis Public Housing Authority and the interest generated from those projects has allowed Viscount to develop very strong dealers in the area," explained Mr. Pineau. "We have always been very impressed with the technical knowledge and integrity of the staff at Electric Fire and Security and they have used their experience to develop a strong market for our products in Minneapolis with private property managers as well."

"We have had very good success with the products manufactured by Viscount," mentioned Steve Schnarr, the owner of Electric Fire and Security. "We were one of the dealers that previewed the new MESH technology at the recent International Security Conference in Las Vegas and it is very impressive. Viscount needed to develop new products in the LCD panel side of their business and this new product really takes the technology to a new level."
