HARRISBURG, Pa., Aug. 8, 2002 (PRIMEZONE) -- Worldwide industrial services and products company Harsco Corporation (NYSE:HSC) today announced that its Heckett MultiServ division will expand its services at the AvestaPolarit stainless steel works in Sheffield, England under a new five-year award valued at more than $12 million.
The agreement further increases Heckett MultiServ's scope as the primary service provider at the Sheffield site, one of the world's largest producers of precision stainless steel strip and coil products, where Heckett MultiServ has been providing metal recovery and slag handling services for over 30 years, and raw materials handling services for the past 15 years.
Under the agreement, scheduled to commence later this quarter following the commissioning of a new billet caster by AvestaPolarit, Heckett MultiServ will take responsibility for managing all billet movements and inventory on the Sheffield site. The award builds on Heckett MultiServ's extensive global experience in providing on-site handling and transport of semi-finished products throughout the steelmaking process.
