Eastfield Resources Ltd. Lorraine Project Update

VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Aug. 12, 2002 (PRIMEZONE) -- Four drill holes have been completed in the 2002 Phase Two drilling program at the Lorraine copper-gold-silver property, north of Ft. St. James, B.C. All the core has been split, sampled and shipped to Acme Labs in Vancouver; analytical results are expected in the next two to three weeks. The current drilling program targeted the Lower Main Zone where drilling in the Phase One program, in March, returned 51 metres carrying 0.89% copper and 0.61 g/t gold in hole 2002-62. This interval was within a 149 metre interval grading 0.57% copper and 0.38 g/t gold.

Exploration is continuing on the property with geological mapping and grid preparation for an Induced Polarization geophysical survey which is slated to start around August 20. Several target areas are being surveyed to give better definition for the next drill phase, which is planned for early September.

Eastfield (TSX Venture Exchange:ETF) (Other OTC:ETFLF) is earning up to a 75% interest in the Lorraine Property from Lysander Minerals Corporation. The 100 square mile property enjoys good access and proximity to hydro-electric power. The drilling phases are all directed at expanding the known resources in the Lorraine deposits and in discovering new zones.
