Floods in Europe -- Major Orders for Munters

STOCKHOLM, Sweden, Sept. 10, 2002 (PRIMEZONE) -- A series of local heavy rains and floods hit many places in Europe. Germany, Austria and the Czech Republic were hit in August by the worst flood of the last decades. This natural catastrophe has already cost many lives and caused damages of an extent still not fully assessed today.

Munters is a leading supplier of services for water and fire damage restoration of private homes, industrial and commercial properties. Munters also restores after other and larger damages, for example after the terror attacs at the World Trade Center and the Pentagon.

"Our best estimate as of today is that the total order value in connection with the floods in southern Europe will exceed EUR 10 million. The heavy work load will continue into the next year," said CEO Lennart Evrell.

Munters is redirecting resources toward the flooded areas. Munters MCS was already present with depots in many of the affected areas and could start to help immediately with local resources and all necessary local knowledge and contacts. "The recent acquisition of Svt, who is well established in Germany, gave us the possibility to offer the "one-stop-shop" service needed by insurers," said Erns Baumann, Managing Director of MCS Germany.
