Peab to Extend the E6 and the West Coast Main Line


FOERSLOEV, Sweden, Oct. 10, 2002 (PRIMEZONE) -- Peab (Stockholm:PEABb) have won the contract to build a stretch of motorway on the E6 north of Uddevalla. Along with other things, the work involves constructing 2.5 kilometres of new motorway, an intersection, and five flyovers. The contract is worth approx. SEK 100 million and the client is the Swedish National Road Administration.

Peab have also won the contract to extend the west coast main railway line at Olmevalla south of Kungsbacka. The work includes laying four kilometres of track, constructing five bridges, carrying out stabilisation work, along with a number of other things. The contract is worth SEK 75 million and the client is Banverket.

Both contracts will be commenced this month and are estimated to be completed in autumn 2004.
