PHILADELPHIA, Pa., Dec.6, 2002 (PRIMEZONE) -- December 31, 2002 will end in sparkling delight as Philadelphia's 12th annual free New Year's Eve fireworks show is presented by The Delaware River Port Authority. The New Year's Eve Party on Ice will take place throughout the night at the Blue Cross RiverRink on Festival Pier at Penn's Landing, Columbus Boulevard and Spring Garden Street.
Seen easily on both sides of the Delaware River at midnight, the twenty minute-show of colorful magic will include special effects on the Ben Franklin Bridge. The fireworks will be synchronized to music by WMGK 102.9. The fireworks will also be broadcast on NBC 10 for television viewers.
There are many outstanding locations for viewing the fireworks on both sides of the Delaware River highlighted by the Great Plaza at Penn's Landing and Wiggins Park on the Camden Waterfront.
In addition to a prime view of the fireworks at Wiggins Park and along the waterfront promenade in Camden, the Battleship New Jersey, Wiggins Park, Camden Children's Garden, New Jersey State Aquarium and Campbell's Field will all be lit up to celebrate the new year. Parking on the Camden Waterfront is free on New Year's Eve for all guests sharing in this exciting and heartwarming evening.
The New Year's Eve Party on Ice at the Blue Cross RiverRink is a grand night for families and adults alike. Added to regular skate sessions all day and night is a special skating session from 11 p.m. to 1 a.m. This is the best non-alcoholic party in the city featuring food, great music, and a perfect spot to view the fireworks -- right on the ice!
