Scandiaconsult Natura Wins Major Contract in Zambia


STOCKHOLM, Sweden, Dec. 10, 2002 (PRIMEZONE) -- Scandiaconsult Natura has been contracted by Sida (the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency) to support Zambia's efforts in combating poverty. This will be done through the so-called Agricultural Support Programme (ASP) which includes components such as introduction and development of agricultural methods, improvements in local infrastructure and training in business development for farmers, local organisations and authorities. Particular emphasis will be placed on reaching households affected by HIV/AIDS, and food insecure households. The contract sum is estimated at SEK 35m.

About 30 Zambians and two expatriates will be employed through the project. The project will start in 2003 and is estimated to take three years.
