Volvo Trucks Delivers 200 Trucks to Switzerland's Carlsberg Brewery


GOTEBORG, Sweden, Jan. 13, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- Volvo Trucks has signed an agreement with the Carlsberg owned brewery Feldschlosschen Getranke in Switzerland. Volvo (Nasdaq:VOLVY) will supply 200 complete trucks with superstructure to Feldschlosschen. The deal also covers repairs and maintenance.

With the agreement, Volvo takes system responsibility for the brewery's entire vehicle fleet.

The contract encompasses 160 heavy Volvo trucks and about 40 light goods vehicles (Renault Master), which will replace Feldschlosschen's current fleet. The trucks will be delivered complete, with fully built bodies and hydraulic lifts.

This is the largest single contract ever received by the Volvo Trucks Swiss subsidiary.

Deliveries to Feldschlosschen Getranke will get under way during the first quarter of this year.
