Northrop Grumman to Seek Suppliers at Melbourne, Fla., Conference May 21

MELBOURNE, Fla., April 30, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- Companies interested in partnering with Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE:NOC) to support key U.S. military programs will get an opportunity to make that happen next month.

On May 21, the company's Integrated Systems sector will host a suppliers conference in Melbourne to allow companies to present their capabilities and highlight ways they could contribute to the success of Northrop Grumman's programs.

"Some of the most progressive technologies in the nation exist currently in small and medium-sized businesses," said Neil Mullins, Northrop Grumman's small business liaison. "This conference is an opportunity for companies with an innovative idea or concept to join forces with a major collaborator to bring that idea to fruition."

The sector's Airborne Ground Surveillance and Battle Management Systems (AGS & BMS) business area, based in Melbourne, is best known as the prime contractor for the U.S. Air Force's Joint Surveillance Target Attack Radar System. The organization is also involved in several emerging surveillance technologies, including airborne mine detection and advanced integration of battle management systems. AGS & BMS is also a major partner in the Air Force's next-generation Multi-Sensor Command and Control Aircraft program, both as a prime contractor and as a potential developer of the aircraft's Battle Management Command and Control subsystem.

Companies interested in participating in the suppliers conference should send a one-to-two page paper describing company capabilities, strengths and areas of expertise to: Northrop Grumman Integrated Systems, Airborne Ground Surveillance and Battle Management Systems, Attn: Gary Ingram MS N21/216, 2000 NASA Blvd., Melbourne, Fla., 32904, or by email to gary_ingram@ngc.com.
