Unexpected Expenses, Events Escape No One -- New book outlines how to have a financial plan for life's unforeseen events

PLAINFIELD, N.J., June 2, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- Nicole B. Simpson barely escaped from her office on the 73rd floor of World Trade Center on Sept. 11, 2001. A certified financial planner, she knew if she had not had a plan in place for unforeseen events, her family's life could have been dramatically changed. It prompted her to write the book, Planning for a Reason, A Season, and A Lifetime (now available through 1stBooks) to let people know how critical financial planning is and how to get started on being financially secure.

Simpson asks these crucial questions: How would you feel if you were terminated from your company as a result of "downsizing?" Can you afford to be home on disability without concern about how to pay the next mortgage payment?

She helps the reader start developing a financial plan for the unexpected and shows them how to evaluate their situation and pinpoint their goals. Her book tells the reader how to get started on achieving those goals, no matter what their current financial situation is.

Drawing on her experiences as a World Trade Center survivor, wife and mother of two, she shows how important it is to be in control of one's financial, spiritual and emotional destiny. If one follows God, then everything else will fall into place, she writes.

Simpson has been a financial planner and financial advisor in 1997. She has been involved in the securities industry for 12 years. She specializes in comprehensive financial planning, including portfolio management, retirement accounts for small business owners and tax strategies for people in the entertainment industry. Simpson and her husband, Jesse, work together at JeSEMAN Entertainment, named after their two children, Jesse and Emani. Simpson also educates youth about financial planning through the Generation X Community Association, which JeSEMAN founded. She hosts a television show, "The Bottom Line with Nicole Brielle" and directs, produces and hosts a radio show with her husband, "The Hot Picks @ Six and the Midday Mix," on WRSU 88.7 FM weekly.
