BOCA RATON, Fla., June 24, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- Converge Global, Inc. (Pink Sheets:CVRG) announced today that, effective May 29, 2003, Donald A. Smiley has resigned all positions with Converge Global and its wholly owned subsidiary, TeleWrx, Inc. Mr. Smiley previously served as the Chairman of Converge Global and as Chairman of its wholly owned subsidiary TeleWrx, Inc.
Mr. Smiley served in his prior positions for approximately 13 months and his leaving is not a result of any disagreement with the Company. He wishes the Company and its distributors much success. Mr. Smiley has decided to pursue other business ventures and opportunities and to spend time with his family.
Commenting on Mr. Smiley's departure, Michael Brown, President and Chief Executive Officer stated, "I am honored to have had Don serve as our Chairman. Converge Global has begun the process reviewing its options to replace the vacancy created on the board by the departure of Mr. Smiley. Robert E. Brown, currently serving as Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors, will serve as interim Chairman until a permanent Chairman is appointed.
