PHILADELPHIA, June 25, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- Everyone can celebrate Hispanic culture and heritage during the 24th anniversary of the Hispanic Fiesta at Penn's Landing, part of the PECO Energy Multicultural Series. This FREE Festival will take place on the Festival Pier at Penn's Landing, on Columbus Boulevard at Spring Garden Street on Saturday July 12th and Sunday, July 13th, 2003, from Noon -- 8:00 p.m. Independence Blue Cross is the presenting sponsor of the 2003 Summer Season at Penn's Landing.

This year, the Hispanic Fiesta will feature two exciting days packed with music, dance, entertainment and authentic Latin American cuisine. Luisito Figueroa, a 13 year-old salsa artist and finalist from Star Search, will also be showcased. In addition, Miguel Angel Guzman of Telemundo's Protagonistas de la Musica will also entertain the crowd.

In addition to the music of mariachi, salsa, bachata, merengue, samba, and a little Latin R&B, the Fiesta will showcase artisan crafts and authentic foods from Puerto Rico, Cuba, Mexico, Dominican Republic, Nicaragua, Colombia, and other parts of Latin America.

This free event, presented by PECO Energy and the Council of Spanish Speaking Organizations (Concilio) is one of the many cultural events of the Philadelphia Puerto Rican Festival. This Festival, now in its 41st year, works to publicize the importance of the Latino culture and the contribution of the Hispanic community to the Philadelphia region.
