MEDIA ADVISORY, July 21, 2003 -- CDMA2000 to be the focus of discussions at The 2003 CDMA Latin America Regional Conference:


 WHAT:     With 19 commercial networks and 5 more scheduled to be
           deployed by the end of 2003, CDMA2000(r) is expanding
           rapidly throughout Central and Latin America. CDMA2000 
           delivers greater capacity to meet growing demand for 
           wireless services and enables high-speed data services up 
           to 2.4 Mbps. The 2nd Annual CDMA Latin America Regional 
           Conference, hosted by the CDG, will focus on the benefits 
           of CDMA2000 in providing advanced services and generating 
           incremental revenue. Wireless operators from around the 
           world, including BSI (USA), Korea Telecom Freetel, SK
           Telecom (Korea), SmartCom (Chile), Sprint (U.S.),
           Telefonica (Peru), Verizon Wireless (U.S.), and Vesper and
           Vivo (Brazil), will share their knowledge and experiences
           in deploying 3G services. 

 WHO:      The CDMA Development Group is a nonprofit trade association
           formed to foster the worldwide development, implementation
