Life's Deepest Emotions in Verse -- Poet offers universal topics, styles in new compilation

VERONA, Ky., Sept. 4, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- Cecile Lorraine Hutchinson's poetry is as varied as her subject: life. In her new book of poetry, Life's Moments Within (now available through 1stBooks), she touches on a variety of life's wonders, which range from the serenity of nature to the depths of sadness.

She simply writes what she sees, crafting her words after deep contemplation. Her writing is fueled by her own experiences and passions, but touches on the common things in life. Her style encompasses the enormity of life's possible emotions. Hutchinson writes of love, nature, beauty and much more, with detailed descriptions in some cases and short, profound phrases in others.

With a steady hand, she pens the deepest emotions from within. "This book is like the spices on life, with each poem different and distinct. In summary, it is set in a small speck in time, unraveling a moments worth of the endless array of what exists," Hutchinson writes.

Her poem, "My Rose," was written almost a decade ago for one of her daughters, a teenager at the time:

"You are my rose./Let those who love you enjoy your beauty./Let them cut a sprig to enjoy/As you grow many more loving branches./Share your beauty./Don't prick all who come your way,/Otherwise, fall will come/And cold winds will blow your soft pedals away./Then, your beauty will be lost again/Until the warmth in your heart/Lets you grow and bloom again..."

Hutchinson lives in a small, rural Kentucky community. Married for 26 years, she raised six children, worked full time as a registered nurse and volunteered in her community's "life squad." In her spare time, she enjoys writing, painting, gardening, traveling and furthering her education. She and her husband have four grandchildren. Life's Moments Within is her first book of poetry.
