Romacorp Promotes Douglas Snyder to Senior Vice President of Operations

DALLAS, Oct. 1, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- Romacorp, Inc., operator and franchisor of Tony Roma's restaurants, has promoted casual dining veteran Douglas W. Snyder to Senior Vice President of Operations. Snyder, previously VP of Franchise Operations, will oversee all company and franchise operations for the 252-unit chain.

"Doug is an experienced leader who will be instrumental in our ongoing drive to raise the bar on operating excellence," said David W. Head, CEO and President of Romacorp. "He knows what it takes to provide outstanding guest experiences and is focused on helping our restaurant teams achieve this."

The newly-created SVP of Operations position consolidates operations leadership of both company and franchise restaurants, including training and all operations support functions. Louis Cambeletta, VP Operations for company restaurants, will report directly to Snyder.

Before joining Romacorp in 2001, Snyder, 51, was a Bennigan's franchisee in the Las Vegas area. He previously spent 17 years with S&A Restaurant Corp.'s Bennigan's chain in several operations and corporate positions.

As VP of Franchise Operations from 1996-2000, he developed and implemented the franchise operations division for Bennigan's, which until then owned and operated 100% of its restaurants. He also put Bennigan's Franchise Advisory Council in place, and oversaw openings of Bennigan's first franchised restaurants.

"I'm very excited to be part of the team that is working hard to take Tony Roma's to the next level," Snyder said. "We're known all over the world for our ribs and are committed to becoming just as well known for our friendly service, great food and overall experience."

Snyder's corporate experience also includes serving in human resources, and planning and analysis posts. The University of Florida graduate began in the hospitality business as operator and part owner of Nichols Alley Co., a small chain of nightclubs in Georgia and Florida.
