MSV President To Address Washington Space Business Roundtable Tuesday, Oct. 28

RESTON, Va., Oct. 27, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- Carson Agnew, president and COO, Mobile Satellite Ventures L.P. (MSV), North America's premier provider of mobile satellite communications services, will speak about the revitalization of the mobile satellite industry Tuesday during the Washington Space Business Roundtable's October luncheon.

Members of the news media are invited to attend his talk, which gets underway at 12:45 p.m. at The University Club, Governor's Room, located at 1134 16th St. N.W.

Agnew, a technology veteran of 29 years, was appointed president of MSV in November 2001. He is leading MSV's efforts to deploy a next-generation wireless network system that integrates terrestrial cell sites with powerful satellites. MSV considers Ancillary Terrestrial Component, or ATC, a critical part of its future vision as it looks to better serve urban environments across North America and deliver wireless service everywhere.

"People have talked about taking mobile satellite service to the masses with phones that were small, convenient and usable anywhere for almost 20 years," said Agnew. "Technology is now available to transform your regular cell phone into a phone that can switch between terrestrial and satellite depending on where you are."
