Sales of third digital pen enabling Anoto functionality begins

LUND, Sweden, Nov. 07, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- Sales of the third digital pen enabling Anoto functionality have been launched. The Nokia Digital Pen, introduced in March 2003, can be retailed in some thirty markets including Sweden. The Nokia Digital Pen is both PC and mobile phone compatible. Sales are carried out via Nokia's resellers and the estimated price will be about Euro 250.

"That Nokia is starting sales in some thirty countries both in Europe and US is of vital importance to us. The Sony Ericsson Chatpen and Logitech io Pen already have a presence in several markets. With the addition of another very strong trademark we can now certainly count on an even sharper impact and gaining wider acceptance of Anoto functionality and digital pens," says Orjan Johansson, President, Anoto Group AB.

"Launching the Nokia Digital Pen is entirely in line with Nokia's ambition of further enhancing the selection of accessories. The digital pen will be compatible with our most popular mobile phone models and in addition support significant new services such as MMS. Being able to send handwritten notes directly form the digital paper is effective and creative, and definitely stimulates the use of MMS, something that we regard as a great advantage," says Johan Eidhagen, Marketing Director, Nokia Mobile Phones Scandinavia.

The Nokia Digital Pen, SU-1B sales package contains:
-- Digital paper enabling Anoto functionality (MMS pad and Note pad)
 -- Connectivity desk stand DT-2
 -- Rapid travel charger ACP-12
