New Xerox-Branded, Flat-Panel LCD Monitors Offer Crystal-Clear Images, Sleek Design

LAS VEGAS, Jan. 8, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- Proview Technology, Inc. today launched three series of its Xerox(r)-branded Displays, ultra-thin LCD, flat-panel monitors. By incorporating a slender 1.5-inch chassis with premium image quality, these monitors - 13 models in total - are designed for all business, educational and home computer viewing applications.

With high contrast ratios, quick video response times and acute pixel pitch ratios, the PC- and Macintosh(r)-compatible monitors afford users crisp images and brilliant colors. While the displays' black and silver chassis options match today's modern computer designs, the products' ultra-thin and wall-mountable design also saves people considerable desktop space.

"Xerox Displays enters into the computer display market with the same attention to quality and detail that Xerox places in its award-winning document management products," said Gordon Harris, president for Proview Technology, Inc., a Xerox licensing partner based in Garden Grove, Calif.

"With the introduction of three series of Xerox LCD monitors, we provide consumers with a premium selection of stylish, high-performance computer displays to meet users' needs and budgets," Harris said.

The following are the 13 initial Xerox Displays introduced at the Consumer Electronics Show this week:

7 Series

By integrating XShield(r), an anti-glare glass cover, Xerox's 7 Series duo allows people to complete additional computing tasks by reducing eye fatigue associated with comparable CRT monitors. The rugged XShield also provides further protection for financial, medical, educational and business applications.

Available in 17- (XL775D) and 19-inch (XL795D) screen sizes, the ultra-thin and elegant TFT monitors afford users the flexibility of dual video inputs for analog and digital video connectivity to maximize any computer's video capability. The XL795D ($849) includes a 25 millisecond (ms) video response time for improved video reproduction while combining a 600:1 contrast ratio and 0.294mm pixel pitch for more vivid screen clarity. The XL775D ($569) features a 16ms video response time, 450:1 contrast ratio and 0.264mm pixel pitch.

5 Series

Featuring a contemporary LCD design, the Xerox 5 Series feature seven monitors - available in 15-, 17- and 19-inch versions in both silver and black models - that include leading multimedia functionality throughout. Touting acute pixel pitch ratios, quick response times, dramatic contrast ratios and twin stereo speakers, the display selection affords people crisp and vibrant image quality and clear sound for increased video viewing enjoyment. Priced at $419, the 5 Series' 15-inch monitor duo - the XL552Db (black) and XL552Ds (silver) - feature a 30ms response time, 300:1 contrast ratio, and 0.297mm pixel pitch.

The 17-inch XL572Db (black) and XL572Ds (silver) - available for $569 - tout a 400:1 contrast ratio, 23ms video response time and 0.264mm pixel pitch rate. The 5 Series' two 19-inch versions - the XL592Db (black) and XL592Ds (silver) include a 25ms video response time, 500:1 contrast ratio and 0.294mm pixel pitch rate. The pair is currently available for $799.

Xerox's 5 Series also includes a 17-inch silver model, the XL776s ($499) featuring a 25ms video response time, 450:1 contrast ratio, 0.274mm pixel pitch, and analog video connectivity.

3 Series

Xerox's 3 Series includes four affordable, multimedia flat-panel displays starting at $399.

In addition to combining the latest in LCD technology, the TFT monitors - available in both black and silver editions - offer intuitive, capacitive-touch digital controls for greater ease-of-programming. The series' two 15-inch displays, the XL350s (silver) and XL350b (black), include a 25ms video response time, 300:1 contrast ratio and 0.297mm pixel pitch.

For people seeking a larger screen size, the 3 Series' 17-inch models XL370s (silver) and XL370b (black) - available for $549 - equip users with ideal displays for any computing environment. The pair presents a 30ms video response time, 300:1 contrast ratio and 0.264mm pixel pitch rate.

Proview supports its entire display selection through its three-year limited parts and labor support including toll-free customer service and advanced replacement program. The advanced replacement program allows customers to receive a replacement monitor in advance of the defective product's return.
