Golden Spirit Minerals Ltd.: Phase 1 Work Program Expected

BELLINGHAM, Wash., Feb. 23, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- Golden Spirit Minerals Ltd. (OTCBB:GSPM) announces it will explore for precious metals in the hard rocks underlying the previously mined and unknown placer deposits. Consequently, Golden Spirit is presently receiving bids from several independent mining engineers and geologists, who after review of available data, will draft a report and have recommendations to include a budget for Phase 1 and Phase 2 work programs. Subject to the results of the Phase 1 work program, Phase 2 will probably consist mostly of drilling.

The Phase 1 program is expected to include grid emplacement, geological mapping, soil and rock sampling, trenching and geophysical surveys.

"Having the Fort Knox and True North mines, both operated by Kinross Gold in the area gives Golden Spirit confidence to continue further exploration towards a hard rock deposit," states president Robert Klein.

Golden Spirit Minerals Ltd. is focused on building a portfolio of promising gold properties to maximize shareholder value based on the ever-increasing value of Gold.
