A Grandmother Conquers the Yukon

New Book Tells the Hardship and Feat

BALTIMORE, March 9, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- This is one inspiring book for women of all ages. It is the story of a woman who matched men in hunting and field prowess in an adventure in the Yukon wilderness. Ann Peltzer, a grandmother, shares the daunting difficulties, adventure and unexpected feat of her days in the unspoiled splendor of Yukon, Canada, in her new book Grandmother Vs the Yukon.

The odds were against her. Ann Peltzer was a bookkeeper, a native Baltimorean city gal, who had never been into sports much less hunting and nature adventures. When she met her second husband, who was a nature lover and a hunting enthusiast, the desk sitter embarked on an adventure in the wild side. Her husband was ten years her junior, robust and has hunting experience. Ann did not have the athletic abilities, but she was determined to hurdle the challenges that the Yukon wilderness has come to be known for. In the end, her wilderness adventure would prove something about herself and the grandmother attained a feat that was considered the greatest dream of sportsmen.

What is it in the wilderness that compels these enthusiasts to go back year after year, in spite of and despite the challenges and dangers? Ann had found out the answer, and having so by making a mark for herself in a sport that has been dominated by men.
