John Starks Returns To The Westchester Wildfire


MILFORD, Conn., March 10, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- The United States Basketball League, Inc. (OTCBB:USBL) in conjunction with the Westchester Wildfire announced yesterday that former New York Knicks great John Starks will again serve as head coach for the team's second season, which tips-off on April 20.

"We all know John as a great player," said Gary Lieberman, Owner of the Westchester Wildfire. "We now know him additionally as a great coach. But beyond that, John is even a better person. Having someone of John's character, integrity and commitment to the Westchester community on and off the court is very gratifying to the Wildfire organization."

"I'm very excited and eager to return back to New York and coach the Wildfire for another season," said Starks. "I love New York, the fans know their hoops and are extremely supportive. Having the opportunity to coach professional basketball with the Wildfire in the Westchester area is very special to me and my family."

"We here at the USBL League Office are very excited to have John back on the sidelines for the Wildfire. John has proven himself not only as a great player, but also as a great coach and we are happy to have him back for another season," stated USBL Founder and Commissioner Daniel T. Meisenheimer III.

The USBL is presently in preparation for its 19th season of play. The 19th season tips off on April 16th with eleven teams located throughout the United States.
