Reporting to Dustin Snell, the company's CEO and co-founder, Ansel will be responsible for driving public relations programs and marketing communications efforts promoting the company's flagship product, AutoMate.

Ansel's appointment is consistent with the company's recently renewed commitment to reaching out to the technology trade press.

"Having amassed a user base of more than 10,000 happy customers, we felt now was the optimal time to step up our external communications programs and tell our product story in a more proactive way," Snell said. "Gerry's wealth of industry experience and highly developed communication skills will be integral to those efforts moving forward."

Before joining Unisyn Software, Ansel operated his own public relations consultancy, in which he supported such clients as ERP software developer Epicor. From 2001 to 2003 he served as manager of public relations for Best Software Mid-Market Accounting Products Division, where he oversaw media relations programs and supported branding efforts for the company's MAS, Platinum for Windows, BusinessWorks Gold and BatchMasterPFW product lines.

Ansel also worked as PR Manager for broadband services provider Zyan Communications, and spent several years in supervisory and account management positions with public relations agencies The Bohle Company and Manning Selvage & Lee/Los Angeles.

Ansel began working in his new post March 1.
