MILFORD, Conn., April 2, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- The United States Basketball League, Inc. (USBL) announced today that it has awarded the 12th Annual USBL Post-Season Festival to the Kansas Cagerz franchise. The Post-Season Festival will be held on June 25th, 26th, and 27th at the Bicentennial Center in Salina, Kansas. This is the third time the Cagerz have hosted the Festival, having hosted it in 1999 and 2000.

The Post-Season Festival will be comprised of the host team, Kansas Cagerz, and teams with the top seven records from the regular season. Teams will be seeded according to their seasonal record. Four games will take place on Friday, June 25th with the winners moving on to play on Saturday June 26th. The winners of those games will continue on and play for the USBL Post-Season Festival Championship on Sunday, June 27th.

"We are extremely excited to be hosting the USBL Post-Season Festival," stated Kansas Cagerz General Manager Carroll Long. "We have worked very hard as an organization to bring the Festival back to Salina. The Cagerz fans are the best in the USBL and we felt it was important to reward them for their loyalty to our team. We anticipate the attendance to rival or exceed the attendance records in the past."

"We received a number of proposals from our member franchises for the Post-Season Festival, and we selected the Cagerz organization because of their past success. We as a League are excited to be returning to Salina, Kansas and the Bicentennial Center for the Post-Season Festival. The Festivals there are very well attended and provide the atmosphere the Festival has come to be known for. There is no doubt in my mind that the 12th Annual Post-Season Festival will be the finest in USBL history," stated USBL Founder and Commissioner Daniel T. Meisenheimer III.
