KUNGSBACKA, Sweden, April 13, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- Elanders has signed a Letter of Intent with AB Volvo subsidiary Celero Support AB for the takeover of their storage and distribution unit in Gothenburg. A second Letter of Intent for the production of after sales information was signed with AB Volvo, which can even lead to Elanders becoming a preferred supplier for the production of other printed matter.
Elanders and AB Volvo subsidiary Celero Support AB signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) concerning a possible take over of the unit in Celero Support AB that provides logistics, distribution and storage of publications for marketing and after sales in AB Volvo as well as a helpdesk used for ordering the publications. These operations lie in Arendal on Hisingen in Gothenburg and employ around 50 people.
Elanders and AB Volvo have also signed a LOI for a possible three to five year production agreement as exclusive supplier of printed matter (manuals, garage instructions books etc) for after sales to the Swedish units in the Volvo Group; Volvo Bussar, Volvo Lastvagnar, Volvo Penta and Volvo Parts. In addition, Elanders can become a preferred supplier for the production of other printed matter for Volvo Group.
If this agreement leads to finalised contracts it will move Elanders positions forward in the prioritised segment Automotive by guaranteeing and increasing existing volumes on the after sales market and by providing the opportunity to deliver to the marketing side of the Volvo Group. In addition, the Group can create synergies by coordinating existing, similar services to other customers in the segment.
Any final contracts based on these Letters of Intent are subject to customary due diligence and completed contractual negotiations.
