GSA Awards $25 Million Army CID Contract to American Systems Corporation (ASC)

CHANTILLY, Va., April 28, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- American Systems Corporation (ASC) announced today the award of a follow-on contract for software support to the U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Command (USACIDC). The task order, awarded by the General Services Administration (GSA) Federal Systems Integration and Management Center (FEDSIM) under the GSA Millennia Lite Contract is valued at more than $25 million over four years.

To better support the information processing and reporting needs of the command and its agents, Army CID recently completed fielding the Army Criminal Investigation/Criminal Intelligence (ACI2) case management system. ACI2 is an integrated enterprise application for the capture, storage, safeguarding, processing, exchange and disposition of information about USACIDC investigations. The ACI2 application integrated the functions from two separate existing systems: Criminal Investigative Reporting System (ACIRS) and the Criminal Intelligence (CrimIntel). ACI2 will retain USACIDC's business practices and procedures from ACIRS and CrimIntel.

ASC has played an integral role in the development and deployment of the ACI2 application over the past three years. Under the new contract, ASC will provide program management and information technology support to accomplish the integration, operations, maintenance and enhancement of ACI2 for Army CID and their related organizations, to include support to assist USACIDC in achieving Software Engineering Institute (SEI) Capabilities Maturity Model (CMM) Level 3 certification. During the next four years, ASC will integrate ACI2 with other USACIDC legacy systems or in some instances replace those systems with enhanced ACI2 functionality. These systems include electronic imagining and document management, data warehousing, laboratory information management, the Centralized Operations Police Suite (COPS), and the Defense Incident Based Reporting System (DIBRS).

GSA FEDSIM is a program under the Federal Technology Service providing over $1.4 billion per year in large-scale project support to federal agencies. Millennia Lite is a $25 billion multiple-award, indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract offering multi-year information technology (IT) services to federal agencies worldwide.
