Cardtronics Appoints Jerry Garcia as Chief Information Officer


HOUSTON, July 6, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- Cardtronics, the nation's largest non-bank owner/operator of ATMs, is pleased to announce that Jerry Garcia has been appointed to the newly created position of Chief Information Officer. Mr. Garcia will be responsible for information systems, information technology, processor relations and cash management.

His extensive background in operations, information technology and internal controls provides a solid foundation for his role as Chief Information Officer. Garcia's career has spanned over 20 years in the areas of operations, information technology and management and auditing. He was most recently SVP, e-Business with ALLTEL Information Services, a provider of technology to the financial services industry. Prior to ALLTEL, Garcia was Director of Technology, Consumer Banking Group at First Union (now Wachovia), in Charlotte, NC. He also spent 9 years with USAA Federal Savings Bank, San Antonio, TX where he held various positions including VP, Operations and Remote Delivery, VP Operations and also EDP Auditor.

Garcia spent the previous 8 years with Frost National Bank, San Antonio, where he managed and conducted audits of systems and applications as the Company's EDP Audit Manager. His academic background includes a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting with a concentration in business data systems from the University of Texas, San Antonio.
