Zipper, a Semcon Subsidiary, Signs Framework Agreement with SCA

GOTEBORG, Sweden, Aug. 26, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- Zipper will provide its FastTrack 3.0 concept to SCA through a newly signed framework agreement. The framework agreement will run for five years and will cover all of SCA's activities throughout the world.

Zipper has previously supplied solutions to SCA covering several areas. The framework agreement paves the way for broader cooperation with more of SCA's operational areas.

The agreement will run for five years with the option of extending it. Zipper's FastTrack concept, for handling standard platforms, will help SCA introduce a standard client platform based on FastTrack and Microsoft products. This will provide SCA with a flexible and cost-effective means of handling 25,000 clients around the world.

FastTrack helps customers to automate development, operation, management and roll-out of large PC platforms, leading to reduced costs and a simpler way of updating to the latest technology. FastTrack's delegable administration interface handles machines, users and applications from one location. FastTrack is currently used by 60 or so of Sweden's biggest companies and has been installed at around 250,000 users in Sweden and around the world.

"It is a huge challenge to work with SCA. They chose Zipper because of our extensive experience of implementing standard platforms. We consider that being a supplier to a global company with such a strong brand is an excellent advert for Zipper," says Johan de Verdier, CEO at Zipper.

"We have worked for a long time together and SCA is one of Zipper's most important customers," says Jerker Lund, customer liaison officer at SCA. "The framework agreement simplifies our partnership and also provides the opportunity to strengthen our relationship with Zipper, which we are greatly looking forward to."
