New Poetry Collection With a Positive Focus

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, UNITED STATES

BAKERSFIELD, Calif., Aug. 31, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- For someone who has never enjoyed reading or writing until he wore his first pair of glasses at the age of twenty-eight, James O'Brien has certainly made up for it. His fascinating new book, Poetry in Focus, speaks for the literary energy he has unconsciously hoarded until now.

Beautifully written and brimming with positivity, this collection of poems celebrates life in its multifarious forms. From romance to spirituality, from special occasions to introspection, it is filled with uplifting thoughts that will strike a joyful note in everyone. Indeed, O'Brien has come a long way since he first began to write. "All the poems in Poetry in Focus will help everyone see life in a positive light and deal with life's issues in a more enjoyable way," he says.

About the Author

James was born in Santa Barbara, California, in 1947. A few years later, he and his family moved to the dryer climate of the San Joaquin Valley. He grew up, went to school, and started his own family in and around Bakersfield.
