Human Resources Outsourcing Association Announces Fall 2004 Certified Professional Outsourcing Curriculum

Two Premier Workshops That Address Today's Human Resources Outsourcing Issues Are Now Open For Enrollment

NASHUA, N.H., Sept. 8, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- Today the Human Resources Outsourcing Association(r) ("HROA(r)"), a non-profit association dedicated to promoting professionalism in, and best practices of, human resources outsourcing ("HRO"), announces that it is launching its Fall 2004 Certified Professional Outsourcing ("CPO") curriculum.

The two new courses, "Using Outsourcing as a Human Resources Strategy" and "Legal Aspects of Human Resources Outsourcing" will be offered in a two-day, workshop style format to maximize all participants' learning experiences.

"Using Outsourcing as a Human Resources Strategy" will debut in Chicago, IL, October 11-12, 2004 and in Washington, D.C., October 19-20, 2004. This comprehensive overview is an opportunity for the HR practitioner, providers and consultants, to learn the variety of skills necessary to make the "build or buy" decision when considering outsourcing as an appropriate alternative. Outsourcing, as an option, needs to be an essential part of every HR professional's skill set. This course will include the following topics: strategic implications, project management, consulting, picking the providers, the RFP, Legal Considerations & Contracts, Communication, Metrics, the Provider Relationship, Governance and Managing Change. These modules will quickly expand the knowledge and skills of all participants.

"Legal Aspects of Human Resources Outsourcing" will be offered in Los Angeles, CA, October 26-27, 2004 and in New York City, NY, November 9-10, 2004. This course will examine the specific legal issues relevant for outsourcing human resource services. Drafting of contracts, consideration for Service Level Agreements (SLA's) and exit issues will be covered in-depth. In addition, students will explore legal implications of offshore arrangements and monitoring of relationships. Bring along your issues of the day, and get ready to share insights and solutions with colleagues and faculty. Participate in an active exchange of actual experiences, ensuring that the most current issues, and your greatest challenges and concerns are given significant attention.

"The mission of the HROA is to support the HRO industry through education, advocacy and the promotion of best practices," said Michael Beygelman, Executive Director of the HROA. Mr. Beygelman continued, "Education, and elevating the HR profession by enabling individuals to attain the HRO industry's first, and only, professional designation is squarely inline with HROA's mission, and is an integral component of HROA's ongoing strategy."

Carole Weinstein, Founder and Chief Learner of LearningWorks, HROA Board member and chair of the HROA's Education committee said, "Outsourcing is a catalyst for practical, strategic and efficient human resources management. It is about elevating the contributions and value creation HR professionals offer to the management of resources and people."

Matthew DeLuca, SPHR, who is Adjunct Associate Professor of Management at New York University and a member of the HROA Board of Directors, where he chairs the Program committee, and Carole Weinstein, will actively participate as co-instructors of the two new CPO courses being offered during Fall 2004.
