Nomadix Announces Nomadix Interconnect Services for Service Providers, Public Access Service Operators and Venue Owners

Nomadix Roaming Service Connects Carrier Subscribers to World's Largest Public Access Footprint

WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif., Oct. 11, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- Nomadix, Inc., (www.nomadix.com), today announced its NIS Roaming service, a roaming connectivity solution that is the first component of its new Nomadix Interconnect Services(tm) (NIS) offering. NIS Roaming aggregates devices running the Nomadix Service Engine (NSE) that are owned and/or operated by venue owners and public access service operators (PASOs) to create a large, managed roaming footprint for service provider's subscribers. At the same time NIS Roaming aggregates nomadic subscribers for NSE owners and operators once they opt into the NIS Roaming program. With over 20,000 NSE-enabled devices shipped to date and the ability of NIS roaming to also provide roaming connectivity to non-NSE devices, Nomadix represents the world's largest public access footprint.

Aside from its large scale, Nomadix' NIS Roaming is unique in that it delivers carrier class service levels, and features a carrier class clearinghouse, settlement and billing solution provided by Convergys Corporation (NYSE:CVG). For those service providers, such as mobile or wireline operators, that utilize NSE-enabled gateways for their owned public access infrastructure, NIS Roaming represents the ability to create a large, high-availability footprint without the capital outlay to build it. That footprint then presents the same user experience since it is NSE-based.

NIS Roaming represents an intuitive way for owners of public access venue owners and PASOs to expand their own service offering by extending the network of the abovementioned service providers, thus making each NIS Roaming-enabled location a more attractive location.

NIS Roaming partners include mobile carriers, wireline operators, ISPs and OSS software providers such as: Sprint, PicoPoint and Eleven Wireless. PASOs include: Guest-Tek, HarborLink Network, Hughes Network Systems, RoomLinX and V-Link representing over 4,000 venues and locations worldwide.

"The market is currently being driven by several verticals that view public access as an essential part of doing business. The current widespread deployment of wireless LAN technology is set for sustained growth," said Amy Cravens, senior analyst, In-Stat/MDR. "The market has evolved to the point where intelligent network services are necessary and Nomadix' strong background and strategic partners well positions the company to offer these services."

"The launch of Nomadix Interconnect Services is a testament to Nomadix' ongoing commitment to providing continued innovation in public access," said, Josh Friedman, CEO, Eleven Wireless. "As a Wi-Fi OSS software provider, Eleven is proud to partner with Nomadix, offering our customers the ability to join the NIS roaming network, providing centralized roaming provisioning and management through ElevenOS."

"RoomLinX, as a leading provider of wireless high-speed Internet network solutions to hotels and convention centers with customers such as, Crowne Plaza Hotels and Resorts, Sheraton Hotels and Resorts, Raddison, Westin Hotels and Resorts, and Holiday Inn Hotels-Resorts, is excited to be partnering with Nomadix to deliver their NIS offering," said Aaron Dobrinsky, CEO, RoomLinX (OTCBB:RMLX). "This is exactly the type of solution our customers are looking for to drive more room sales."

"Nomadix is expanding the roaming envelope in an innovative way, and we are very pleased to participate in this initiative. The more ubiquitous Wi-Fi networks become through roaming arrangements, the more value they will deliver to end-customers," adds Abbas Sadriwalla, CEO, V-Link Solutions, Inc.

Additionally, the NIS solution portfolio will include services centered on adding value into today's public access networks. Plans include support for such new applications as VoIP, and content such as location-aware advertising, to ensure Nomadix remains at the forefront of next-generation service innovation.

"With the launch of Nomadix Interconnect Services, we look forward to driving the evolution of the public access market into the future, which today is at a critical and strategic juncture. Nomadix' NIS, in conjunction with our existing NSE offering and existing footprint, will continue to provide the support this growing market needs," said Kurt Bauer, President and CEO, Nomadix. "Through these new services, Nomadix can provide to its customers technical and business foundations that enable business partnerships and allow the instant creation of multi-service, multi-use networks to generate increased revenue streams."
