STOCKHOLM, Nov. 26, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- Getinge has acquired 70% of the shares in Dynamed Inc. Dynamed, based in Toronto, is currently Medical Systems' distributor in Canada for ventilators and has annual sales of around SEK 85 million and 55 staff.
By acquiring Dynamed Inc. Getinge is continuing its strategy of developing its own sales channels on important markets.
In connection with the acquisition, Medical Systems' existing cardio-pulmonary company in Canada, Jostra Inc., will be integrated in the newly acquired company.
The person selling Dynamed is its founder Peter Bennett, who will stay on as President with a 30% holding.
It is expected that Dynamed will contribute to the Group's pre-tax profit with effect from FY 2005 and will be consolidated from December 2004.
