Inflexion Announces Its Voice Led Convergence Strategy

LAUREL, Md., Jan. 26, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- For the past 100 years, communications companies have focused on voice as the key application on their networks. Inflexion's Voice Led Convergence ("VLC") strategy recognizes the enormous value of voice, but relies on video as the key driver of differentiation in its IP deployments. As Kevin Sampson, VP Marketing stated, "Vision is the greatest and most important sense -- why have companies ignored this as they create communications systems. Without video and the other unique applications that we position on our network, the IP system looks just like the traditional network." This strategy has attracted the attention of dozens of non-traditional technology companies. These companies desire to partner with Inflexion to exploit the opportunities associated with the deployment of IP networks.

"Inflexion has created relationships with marquee partners that want to position among other things, PDAs, audio devices, video conferencing equipment, and wireless devices on the Inflexion network," stated Ken Brown -- the architect of this new way to deploy technology. He went on to say, "Companies have traditionally focused on a go it alone method of driving new technology into the marketplace. IP networks provide an opportunity to bundle a variety of products into a value laden package and provide that to the customer." Inflexion integrates products from Sony, Gateway, Cisco, Polycom, Toshiba, Proxim and several other companies into its unique packages.

Several of Inflexion's partners are so interested in the opportunity to deploy products in the small and medium size business market that they offer to subsidize the cost of the company's IP network. Inflexion's "Companies with Vision" program has created an opportunity for the small and medium size business to benefit from technology that most large companies do not even use. As you would expect, demand for participation in the program is strong. "If I walked into your business or municipality and I brought you a partner that agrees to subsidize your IP network, provide a free video conference system, and deploy a WiFi system, wouldn't you jump at that -- I would," stated Mr. Brown.

As a condition of participation in the program, mandatory attendance at a Customer Experience Session ("CES") is required. These sessions provide an opportunity for participating companies to obtain feedback regarding the use of technology. Of particular interest is the interplay between the home office and the workplace. These sessions typically last two days and are sponsored by Inflexion and its partners.
