Mobile Satellite Ventures Appoints Jennifer Manner as Vice President, Regulatory Affairs


RESTON, Va., Feb. 16, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- Mobile Satellite Ventures (MSV) today announced the appointment of Jennifer A. Manner as the company's new Vice President, Regulatory Affairs. Ms. Manner joins MSV from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), where she most recently served as Senior Counsel to FCC Commissioner Kathleen Q. Abernathy.

"Jennifer's background perfectly combines regulatory expertise with business skills, both on the domestic and international fronts. While working for Commissioner Abernathy, Ms. Manner was responsible for advising on wireless, technology and international issues. Ms. Manner worked on a wide range of proceedings involving satellite, licensed and unlicensed wireless services, and other new technologies. She also participated in bilateral and multilateral international negotiations. Prior to joining the FCC, Ms. Manner served in various business and legal roles at WorldCom, including as Director of International Alliances and as Associate Counsel in MCI/WorldCom's legal group. Before joining MCI/WorldCom, Ms. Manner was an Associate in the communications group of Akin, Gump, Strauss, Hauer and Feld and an Attorney-Advisor at the FCC.

Ms. Manner is the author of two books on telecommunications, Spectrum Wars and Global Telecommunications Market Access, and several scholarly articles on telecommunications policy. Since 2000, she has served as an Adjunct Professor of Law at Georgetown University Law Center. Ms. Manner earned her L.L.M. from Georgetown University Law Center and her J.D. from New York Law School. She was an undergraduate at the State University of New York at Albany.
