EMS Technologies Space & Technology/Atlanta Division Changes Name to EMS Defense & Space Systems

ATLANTA, March 16, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- EMS Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq:ELMG) announced today that its Space & Technology/Atlanta Division has changed its name to Defense & Space Systems (D&SS) Division, effective immediately.

Jay Grove, senior vice president and general manager, D&SS, noted that the time is right for the name change, given the division's focus on providing microwave systems to key defense electronics markets, customers and programs. Defense work now accounts for 70 percent of projected revenues for 2005 and a significant portion of the record backlog at the close of 2004.

Customers for EMS Defense & Space Systems include various divisions of leading U.S. prime contractors: Boeing, Lockheed-Martin Corp., Northrop Grumman Corp., and Raytheon; European Space leaders: Alcatel, Alenia, and Astrium; industry leaders such as Harris, ITT, Elisra, and LiveTV; and various agencies of the U.S. government, including NASA and elements of the Department of Defense.

"The Defense & Space Systems name change recognizes that our technical capabilities and marketing focus now go well beyond custom-engineered, space components. We are in the business of providing advanced systems across terrestrial, airborne, and satellite applications. Our mission is to be an agile partner for RF systems across all mobile platforms," said Grove.
