Last Chance To Enter The 2005 College Poker Championship

More Than 75,000 Have Competed But Only One Will Be Crowned World Champion


NEW YORK, May 2, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- Students have until midnight EST on Wednesday, May 4th to register for the 2nd Annual College Poker Championship (tm) (www.collegepokerchampionship.com). For 36 weeks More than 75,000 students from more than 2,300 schools have competed for the chance to win the title of World's 2005 College Poker Champion and their share of the $135,000 prize pool. The final weekly tournament will be held on May 8th at 4pm EST.

In addition, the school rivalry competition will end on May 23rd. The campus with the highest point total in the College Poker Championship will win the title: World's 2005 College Campus Poker Champion. Students have only one week left to earn points for their school. The top ten schools are:

CPC is a free online tournament available to all registered college and university students worldwide. College Poker Championship provides an exciting and safe atmosphere for students to compete, win scholarships and learn some life lessons from playing Texas Hold'em poker, the hottest game in the world.

May 8, 2005 4pm EST --Final Weekly Tournament: The last opportunity for students to compete and advance to the semifinals.

May 15, 2005 4pm EST -- Semifinal Tournament: All students who have qualified in the weekly tournaments are entered; the top 20 percent move on to the Final Table.

May 22, 2005 4pm EST -- Final Table:

The College Poker Champion will be awarded a $41,000 academic scholarship.

Contestants placing 1st-10th will earn a $1,000 donation to the charity or organization of their choice.

Players placing 2nd-10th will share a $53,300 scholarship pool.

Players placing 11th-80th will share a $15,500 scholarship pool.

Student must register online at www.collegepokerchampionship.com before Midnight EST May 4th to participate in the final week of the CPC. There is no fee to enter or play in the tournament.
