Red Hat Society Deals Out the Fun In Las Vegas

FULLERTON, Calif., June 17, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- Place your bets on RED! Thousands of Red Hatters from all over the world are arriving in Las Vegas for the Red Hat Society Big Deal Convention June 24-29 at the MGM Grand Hotel. With more than 5,000 Red Hatters registered, this will be the largest event in Red Hat Society history.

Red and Pink Hatters--in their signature regalia--are sure to turn heads as they "strut their stuff" at the MGM Grand Hotel and on the Las Vegas Strip. Convention events include an exclusive Studio 54 "Vegas Style" party, opening ceremonies, pajama breakfast, "playshops," a formal banquet and an afternoon tea. Leading the Red Hat Society's convention is Founder and Exalted Queen Mother Sue Ellen Cooper.

The Red Hat Society Store will be open at the convention, offering a full line of official Red Hat Society merchandise and licensed product including hats, clothing, inspirational books, jewelry, scrapbooking materials, stationery and much more. Partnerships with 30 licensees have produced a number of Red Hat Society brand products that furthers the society's commitment to women.

The Red Hat Society has been on a roll since Sue Ellen Cooper decided to greet middle age with verve, humor and elan more than seven years ago. The Red Hat Society has members in more than 30 countries and has garnered international attention for its antics and belief that silliness is the comedic relief in life. "Since we are all in it together, we might as well join red-gloved hands and go for the gusto together," says founder Sue Ellen Cooper. "Underneath the frivolity, we share a bond of affection, forged by common life experiences and a genuine enthusiasm for wherever life takes us next." There are currently more than 41,000 Red Hat Society chapters and about one million members worldwide.
