Telelogic Further Extends Systems and Software Modeling with UML Test Profile Support

New TAU G2 Release Also Features Tighter Integration with SYNERGY for Model Configuration Management

MALMO, Sweden, June 20, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- Telelogic (Stockholm:TLOG), the leading provider of software solutions that align advanced systems and software development with business objectives, today announced the availability of a new version of its industry-leading Model-Driven Development solution, Telelogic TAU(R) G2. TAU G2 v2.5 is an integrated component of Telelogic Lifecycle Solutions, which also features new releases (announced today) of Telelogic DOORS(r), market-leading requirements management and Telelogic SYNERGY(tm), award-winning change and configuration management.

Telelogic TAU G2 is recognized as an innovator in the field of model-driven development, leading the way with UML (Unified Modeling Language) 2.0 support for systems and software engineers, early design verification using executable models, complete code generation optimized for embedded devices, and tight integrations with requirements management and configuration management tools. Telelogic TAU G2 v2.5 continues this innovation with powerful new capabilities including:

-- Visual test specification and execution using the UML Test Profile -- TAU G2 v2.5 extends Telelogic's support for modeling across the lifecycle with visual design of tests using sequence and statechart diagrams, executing of those tests against design models and analysis of the test results using automatically generated sequence diagrams or HTML pass/fail reports.

-- Tighter role-based integration for Configuration Management of models -- TAU G2 v2.5 features a new integration with Telelogic SYNERGY that provides transparent version management (including a version history browser) of UML models and easy access to SYNERGY features from within the TAU G2 user interface to enable systems and software engineers to complete development tasks assigned to them through SYNERGY.

-- Event-triggered tool customization -- TAU G2 'Agents' provide a new customization mechanism for power users. Agents are extensions (written in C++ or any language that can access the COM API) to TAU G2 that can be defined to be triggered by certain tool events. Examples of usage include addition of domain-specific semantic checks, automated model transformations and custom extensions to the TAU G2 code generators.

"Telelogic has a long, proven track record of delivering industry leading modeling and automated code generation solutions," said Ingemar Ljungdahl, chief technology officer at Telelogic. "This latest version of Telelogic TAU G2 and our integrated Telelogic Lifecycle Solutions release will enable our customers to further enhance the quality of their systems and software, while reducing the cost of quality and improving productivity."
