Northrop Grumman Receives Awards for Exemplary Performance and Environmental Excellence


NEWPORT NEWS, Va., June 29, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE:NOC) has received a Platinum and a Gold Pretreatment Excellence Award from the Hampton Roads Sanitation District, Virginia Beach, Va. The company was honored for its exemplary environmental compliance record and for demonstrating a commitment to environmental excellence.

The Platinum Award signifies five consecutive years of perfect compliance, and the Gold Award signifies a perfect compliance record for 2004. Northrop Grumman's Newport News sector achieved perfect compliance by sampling and analyzing the industrial-waste water at its shipyard here and meeting the discharge limits mandated by the Hampton Roads Sanitation District. The sector also met all the technical and administrative requirements set forth by the Hampton Roads Sanitation District.
